Summer Camps & Programs 2023

Summer is just around the corner, and the time to plan and register for summer camps and programs is here! Your child will build skills, make friends, and have lots of fun at SMA’s summer camps and programs. All camps take place at St. Mary’s Academy, 861 Hwy 279, Fayetteville, GA 30214.

Performance Theater

Cost: $100

Ages: Rising 6th – 9th grades

Dates: June 26 – 30, 2023

Times: 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM
(Check-in begins 15 minutes prior to camp start time. Please arrive 15 minutes earlier than check-in time on Day 1 to complete camp waivers/forms.)

Location: Theatre

Registration Information: Campers will learn theater basics (voice diction & projection, movement & stage direction, and basic theater techniques) with a culminating activity: the performance of one scripted screen or one number from a musical (decision based on attendees’ vocal comfort). Students should wear shorts, t-shirts and tennis shoes. Each camper receives a camp shirt.

Football

Cost: $100

Ages: Rising 4th – 8th grades

Dates: June 5 – 7, 2023

Times: 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Location: Stadium

Registration Information: St. Mary’s youth football camp is a three-day camp. It is divided into age groups to provide as much individual instruction as possible. This camp is designed for players to improve football fundamentals and have fun. Campers should wear athletic clothing and cleats (if possible). Water is provided. Please bring a snack. Each camper receives a camp t-shirt.

VolleyBall

Cost: $100

Ages: Rising 3rd – 8th grades
Dates: June 12 – 15, 2023
Times: 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM

Registration Information: St. Mary’s youth volleyball camp is a four-day camp. We will teach fundamental skills and engage in competitive, but fun, play. Campers should were athletic clothing, sneaker/tennis shoes and knee pads (if possible). Water is provided. Please bring a snack. Each camper receives a camp t-shirt.

CODING and game Design

Cost: $100

Ages: Rising 5th – 9th grades

Dates: June 26 – 30, 2023

Registration Information:

In this exciting Coding Camp, students will learn the fundamentals of programming in block and text-based languages while working with robots, drones, 3D printers, and even their own video games! All resources, including computers, are provided for students. Come build a skill set that will propel you towards success in STEM and Computer Science! Students can bring their own computer or a device will be provided for them.

Boy's Basketball

Cost: $100

Ages: Rising 3rd – 8th grades

Dates: June 26 – 30, 2023

Location: Gym

Registration Information: We will teach fundamental skills and engage in competitive, but fun, play. Skills taught: Dribbling, Passing, Shooting, Free Throws, defense, 5 on 5 Scrimmage, and how to play basketball as a team including God. Campers need to wear shorts, t-shirts, and bring a towel, lite snack, water or a sport drink. Each camper receives a camp t-shirt.

pScience (STEM) and All Sports Camp

Cost: $225

Ages: 

  • Campers: Rising 1st – 6th grades
  • Leader-in-Training Camp Helpers: Rising 7th  – 8th grades

Dates: July 24 – 28, 2023

Times: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
(Check-in begins 15 minutes prior to camp start time. Please arrive 15 minutes earlier than check-in time on Day 1 to complete camp waivers/forms.)

Location: Science Labs

Registration Information: This camp teaches the whole child through a variety of STEM Activities as well as some physical education / sports activities. The science will take place in the Biology and Physics rooms as well as the Center for Innovation, and the sports will take place outside and in the gym. STEM activities will be in areas such as physics, biology, chemistry, technology, and engineering. Sports activities will be basketball, soccer, running, tag, and other age appropriate games. Students should wear comfortable clothes for activities and athletic shoes (no flip flops, crocs, etc). Students should bring lunch and snacks.

Leader-in-Training: These 7th- and 8th-grade students serve as camp helpers. They help younger campers while still participating in camp activities. Cost: $175 per student.

TECHNICAL THEATER

Cost: $125

Ages: Rising 6th – 9th grades

Dates: June 26 – 30, 2023

Times: 12:30 PM – 4:30 PM

Registration Information: Campers will learn how to scale and create their own model theater and scenic set using SketchUp software, a laser printer, and a 3d printer. Attendees will take home a model of their stage set design as well as a photograph of their design come-to-life on our auditorium stage. This camp combines theater technical skills, STEM skills, and mathematics skills to develop a unique set design outcome for each camper.

Campers that have attended a camp earlier in the day (Performance Theater or Science (STEM) and All Sports Camp) may continue their experience by registering here. Campers will be provided activities and supervision during the break between the camps, but should bring a lunch with a drink. Campers should wear comfortable summer clothing: t-shirt and shorts. Each camper receives a camp shirt.

9th grade summer reading camp

Cost: $100

Ages: Rising 9th graders planning to attend SMA in the fall of 202

Dates: July 10 – 14, 2023

Times: 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Registration Information: This is for SMA rising 9th graders who would like a “leg-up” on their peers when it comes to summer reading. Attendees will have a personal “coach” to help them navigate the summer reading novel and assignment. Attendees will receive help and direction with the novel while at the same time developing skills that will benefit them for high school literature in general. Attendees will need to bring their own copy of the text (Coraline by Neil Gaiman) with them. Attendees should wear comfortable summer clothing: t-shirt and shorts. Each attendee receives a t-shirt.

 

St. Mary’s Academy Summer Enrichment Program

(for SMA students only)

Ages: Rising K – 5th grades

Dates: June 12 – June 15 & June 20 – June 23, 2023

Times: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Registration Information:

Come join a fun 2 week camp focused on avoiding the summer slide. We will be practicing skills learned in the previous year, playing fun games and doing some super cool science experiments. Students will be provided a summer workbook which will last beyond the 2 week program as well as a daily snack. Students will need to arrive with a lunch from home and a spirit of fun! We will also incorporate our regular faith based daily routines.

Day 6: Favorite color day – wear as much of your favorite color as possible
