Summer Camps & Programs 2024

Summer is just around the corner, and the time to plan and register for summer camps and programs is here! Your child will build skills, make friends, and have lots of fun at SMA’s summer camps and programs. All camps take place at St. Mary’s Academy, 861 Hwy 279, Fayetteville, GA 30214.

Please note that registration can be completed by clicking on the appropriate button for the camp below its description. All camp registrations are final and no refunds will be issued. 

Fine ARTS

Performance Theater

Ages: Rising 6th to 9th grades

Dates: June 24 – June 28, 2024

Times: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Friday is a half day)

(Check-in begins 15 minutes prior to camp start time. Please arrive 15 minutes earlier than check-in time on Day 1 to complete camp waivers/forms.)

Registration Information:Campers will learn theater basics: voice diction & projection, movement & stage direction, and basic theater techniques. The campers will work on developing and staging the characters in different short skits. On Friday, the campers will work together with the STEM Technical Theater Camp to perform the skit for an audience of parents. This will be a full-day camp from 8:30 to 11:30 AM (lunch break – students bring their lunch) and then continues from 12:30 to 3:30 PM except for Friday which is a half-day (performance at 11:30 AM, camp concludes at noon). Each camper will receive a t-shirt to commemorate his/her experience.

stem technical theater camp

Ages: Rising 6th to 9th grades

Dates: June 24 – 28, 2024 

Times: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Friday is a half day)

Registration Information: Lights, Curtain, Action, : Students will learn all the ins and outs of the Technical side of Drama and Theater Production: Lighting, Sound Management, Stage Preparation, Set Design, and Teamwork. Students will also spend time exploring the science behind all of the operations: Properties of light and sound waves, mechanical advantage and pulley systems, and scale modeling. Over the course of the week, the students will learn how to run a theater, and take charge of the operations for a real production put on by the Theater Performance Camp on the last day!

reading bootcamp

Ages: Rising 7th to 9th grades 

Dates: July 15 – 19, 2024

Times: 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Registration Information: This camp is designed for rising 7th through rising 9th graders who struggle with reading and reading comprehension tasks in the classroom. This camp is designed to give campers the tools they need to be successful in the literature classroom, but with some fun twists. Students will be taught engaging strategies to help improve their overall reading, but specifically their reading comprehension. This is a half-day camp 8:00 – 11:30 AM. The proposed dates are July 15-19 (1st choice) or July 8-12 if the other camp is not scheduled there (as 2nd choice). I will be the sole instructor for this one.

Ages: Rising 4th to 9th grades

Dates: July 22nd – 26th

Boy's Basketball

Ages: Rising 3rd to 8th grades

Dates: June 3rd-6th OR June 17th, 18th, 20th, 24th, and 25th

Times: 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Registration Information: We will teach fundamental skills and engage in competitive, but fun, play. Skills taught: Dribbling, Passing, Shooting, Free Throws, defense, 5 on 5 Scrimmage, and how to play basketball as a team including God. Registration Information: Rising K to 5th grade girls will learn a cheer, chant, and short dance to be performed for parents on Friday afternoon. Taught by current SMA cheerleaders and coaches. Attendees should wear comfortable summer clothing: t-shirt and shorts and bring a water bottle. Girls will receive a t-shirt to wear for their performance.

Dates: June 10 – 13, 2024

Registration Information: St. Mary’s Youth Volleyball Camp is a four-day camp. We will teach fundamental skills ranging from passing, setting, hitting, serving, and rotations, while engaging in competitive, but fun play.
